Carignan is a typical grape variety from Languedoc-Roussillon where it was introduced after the phylloxera crisis at the end of the 19th century.
Traditionally managed using the goblet system, it is particularly well suited to the Mediterranean climate and is both drought and wind-resistant.
It is a late-ripening grape variety, displaying valuable freshness and tannin content for blending.Â
