The name La Rouvière is derived from the Occitan ‘Roviéra’ meaning oak forest.

The parcels of Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier vines are indeed set amongst woodlands in a valley where they face north-east. Planted on hard limestone soils, they enjoy a cool climate, reflected in the freshness and minerality of the wine.
