Roussanne Chateau de Lancyre AOC Coteaux du Languedoc Pic Saint Loup

Roussanne

In France, this white grape variety is found in Languedoc, the Côtes du Rhône and in Savoy, where it is known as Bergeron.

It thrives on poor, limestone soils.
Fully ripe Roussanne grapes take on a honey colour and they are ready to be picked when the grapes turn russet.
It is an extremely valuable varietal from an aromatic perspective, producing dried fruit notes, hazelnut in particular, and imparts a very round structure on the palate, conducive to ageing in oak casks.
